Old Moshi Hostel is your home far away from home. If you’re a backpacker or a volunteer looking for low budget accommodation, Old Moshi Hostel is the place to be!
Old Moshi Hostel is partnered with fifteen organizations and institutions, all of which are run by local residents. Visitors are able to help with a range of activities within these establishments, including: forest conservation, orphanages, schools and a sports club. In addition, the hostel has started its own “Mobile Clinic” that visits neighboring villages providing services such as painkillers and sanitary pads.
Moshi town is filled with a myriad of options to explore and immerse yourself in the Tanzanian way of life. Old Moshi Hostel is happy to make your experience worthwhile by arranging day trips, safaris and other excursions from discovering waterfalls and caves in Marangu village to meeting members of the Maasai tribe.
We offer four dorm style rooms, each room can be occupied by four persons. Rooms are cleaned daily unless otherwise requested. Each room has a set of drawers with locks. The cost is $15 USD per person per day, breakfast is included. Please note that for volunteers, the rate costs $19 USD per day and it also includes dinner.
I was here with a team of my Michigan Technological University peers from the United States. The stay was great! Eva, Catherine, and Monica are the three lovely ladies working to make your stay the best it can be. If I’m ever in Tanzania again, you’ll know where I’ll stay.
